4 years ago I received my first real paying graphic design gig. I had been working for a few years at an awesome  non-profit organization and was looking to scratch my creative itch on different projects. My wife (fiancé at the time) asked if I could design a prayer card for the high school she teaches at and of course it needed to be on the up-and-up.  Thus I got a GST number and registered my business.

For the next few years I spent my evenings design for clients on the side. Burning the candle at both ends to try to grow a business while supporting my family with my day job as the Marketing and Advertising Manager at another non-profit organization. Marriage and a couple kids later I had built up enough clients to jump into the deep end. In June 2010, with my wife on maternity leave, I quit my day job and began working for myself. It was fourth best decision of my life.  The other three live with me.

So I’ve finally launched a redesign of my portfolio site. My old site remained static for far too long and aside from paying jobs, which are great, I haven’t had a chance to work on personal projects.

My intent with this blog will be share some of the fun things I find around the internet, to share what I’m working on and create more personal projects.

That’s it for now.  Feel free to offer feedback on the new design and be sure to visit some of the great companies I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
